One major concern every photographer has is photo stealing/theft or unauthorized usage online. Joining Facebook groups like NatureGraphy, to share your photo, heightens this concern.
We want to educate and inform you about what we do for our members and how we protect your precious work online.
NatureGraphy has grown into a reputable online publishing company, solely aimed at giving you, the photographer the credit and exposure you deserve. We pride ourselves in being there for you, the photographer, and we back you to the fullest extent possible, in identifying and removing work that has been used without your prior authorization or outside of our Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License usage agreement. What would be a direct violation of this license? A violation would occur if someone sold your work, altered it and or neglected to give you credit.
When joining the NatureGraphy group, we allow and always will allow members the ability to opt-out of NatureGraphy contests and publishing period, by simply sharing into the group, rather than posting directly. Not every Facebook group offers this option but we do because we respect you and your work.
Did you know that when you report unauthorized usage to us, we go to bat for you, in having it taken down. Whether it be on Facebook or the entire internet.
How? We submit DMCA copyright violations to the proper hosting company. In most cases, it would be Google or Facebook. If you submit your photo to the group and that work gets stolen, we go to work on getting it taken down. Please take note of our copyright notice at the footer of each page on NatureGraphy:
Except where otherwise noted, content on this site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
Keep in mind, not everyone complies with these DMCA take-down requests but be assured, we will expose them if they don’t. When reporting photo theft to us, in order for us to go to bat for you, the reported photo must be submitted directly to the NatureGraphy Group and not shared into the group.
NatureGraphy is a closed group with the rule that no one is to share another photographer’s work without first getting proper permission within the group. Anything we publish falls under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
We encourage watermarks on your work, not solely to deter theft but to promote your brand even more, if you happen to be chosen for publishing. Check out our content and contest guidelines.
In conclusion, even though theft cannot be 100% prevented, be assured that as a NatureGraphy Group member, we have your back.
